Homemade Ghee | Organic Unsalted Butter | Clarified Butter | Desi Ghee
Ready in 15-20 minutes
Serves for about a month
Ingredient:
- 454g - Organic unsalted butter
Tools:
- 1 medium size jar
- Cheesecloth
- Strainer
Preparation:
- Semi-heat the pan and add unsalted butter to the pan.
- Let the butter melt completely on a medium to low heat.
- Now once the butter is melted, let it cook on a medium flame for around 10-12 mins or until the mixture starts boiling.
- Once the mixture starts to boil, reduce the flame to low or simmer.
- Keep it on simmer until the mixture stops boiling.
- Once it stops boiling, switch OFF the flame and let it cool down a bit (but not completely).
- Now take a strainer and put a cheesecloth and strain it.
- Throw the scum away and store the Ghee in a glass jar (PLEASE DO NOT USE PLASTIC :) ).
Tips
- Ghee has unique SCFA (short chain fatty acid) and adding Ghee to your meal reduces its GI (Glycemic index).
- Ghee is a super fat hence, an excellent fat burner.
- Ghee regulates blood sugar levels.
- It helps in nourishing our cells as it contains Butyrate i.e. SCFA (Short-chain-fatty-acids) and rich in fat-soluble like Vitamin A, D, and E.
