Homemade Ghee | Organic Unsalted Butter | Clarified Butter | Desi Ghee

Ready in 15-20 minutes
Serves for about a month

Ingredient:

  • 454g - Organic unsalted butter

Tools:

  • 1 medium size jar
  • Cheesecloth
  • Strainer






Preparation:

  1. Semi-heat the pan and add unsalted butter to the pan.
  2. Let the butter melt completely on a medium to low heat.
  3. Now once the butter is melted, let it cook on a medium flame for around 10-12 mins or until the mixture starts boiling.
  4. Once the mixture starts to boil, reduce the flame to low or simmer.
  5. Keep it on simmer until the mixture stops boiling.
  6. Once it stops boiling, switch OFF the flame and let it cool down a bit (but not completely).
  7. Now take a strainer and put a cheesecloth and strain it.
  8. Throw the scum away and store the Ghee in a glass jar (PLEASE DO NOT USE PLASTIC :) ).

Tips



  • Ghee has unique SCFA (short chain fatty acid)  and adding Ghee to your meal reduces its GI (Glycemic index).
  • Ghee is a super fat hence, an excellent fat burner.
  • Ghee regulates blood sugar levels.
  • It helps in nourishing our cells as it contains Butyrate i.e. SCFA (Short-chain-fatty-acids) and rich in fat-soluble like Vitamin A, D, and E.
